The launching brought together the four municipalities comprising PAHIMOSAN, namely Paranas, Hinabangan, Motiong, and San Jose de Buan, in a unified commitment to strengthen immunization efforts and protect children against measles and rubella.

As PAHIMOSAN Vice Chair, Mayor Babalcon joined Motiong Mayor Rene Anthony D. Cabael, Hinabangan Municipal Administrator Lorlyn Dy, and San Jose de Buan Mayor Chrystal Jean R. Elizalde in the message of commitment for the campaign.

The activity featured the presentation of MR-SIA campaign targets and strategies, outreach immunization updates, ceremonial giving of immunization services, commitment signing, pledge of support, symbolic vaccination, and the unveiling of the Ligtas Tigdas: PAHIMOSAN campaign banner.

The MR-SIA will be implemented from August 10 to 28, 2026, with PAHIMOSAN municipalities working together to increase immunization coverage and encourage communities to have eligible children vaccinated.

Also in attendance was the Municipal Administrator of Hinabangan, alongside local health workers, DepEd representatives, barangay officials, and other partners supporting the campaign.

The launching underscored the shared commitment of the four municipalities to make “Ligtas Tigdas, Samar!” a collective effort, bringing local governments, health workers, schools, and communities together toward a safer and healthier generation of children.
