Following the multi-stakeholder consultation held on August 24, the Municipality of Paranas began its writeshop today, August 26, to develop its Renewable Energy Roadmap in partnership with the Institute for Climate and Sustainable Cities (ICSC) through the “Localizing Energy Transition: Empowering Local Governments to Co-Create the Renewable Energy Roadmap” initiative.

Led by Municipal Mayor Elvira U. Babalcon, with Vice Mayor Atty. Eunice Babalcon, the writeshop was attended by members of the Technical Working Group (TWG), concerned department heads, and representatives from the civil society sector, transportation sector, Samar II Electric Cooperative, Inc. (SAMELCO II), and Samar State University Main Campus.

The Renewable Energy Roadmap will serve as a guide for the municipality in advancing its energy transition initiatives and pursuing a cleaner, more sustainable, and locally responsive energy future.

The writeshop will run until Friday, August 28, in Tacloban City.
