Following the discussion with the PEDLE volunteers, a meeting was held with representatives from the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office and the Rural Health Unit. Present were Ms. Jennifer Lucido, MSWDO; Ms. Lournadette Cabacang, Social Welfare Officer III; Ms. Kiven Loyd Abantao, Adolescent Focal Person; Ms. Bernice Enguerra, Municipal Nutrition Action Officer; and Ms. Lezyl Tiglao, TB Focal Person.
The team discussed their role in delivering the OGP program directly to families in Poblacion 5. Families will be enrolled in the program and organized into smaller household groups. The participating offices will also help develop simple learning modules based on the actual needs and situation of the community.
Initial topics will include nutrition, proper cooking, teenage pregnancy, WASH, sanitation, mental health, and other concerns affecting families. The modules will be designed in a way that residents can easily understand and relate to.
The LGU will also include achievable weekly activities and corresponding rewards based on the accomplishments of participating families. At the same time, Vice Mayor Eunice Babalcon emphasized that existing government programs will continue and will be connected with the new OGP initiative.
Through the Makabag-o nga P5 program, the LGU aims to work directly with families in Poblacion 5 and support them in making small but meaningful changes in their daily lives.
