The Municipality of Paranas has officially received a brand-new fire truck from the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) and the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), significantly enhancing the municipality’s firefighting and emergency response capabilities.

In a Facebook post, Vice Mayor Atty. Eunice Babalcon expressed the local government’s gratitude to DILG Secretary Juanito Victor “Jonvic” Remulla, the Bureau of Fire Protection, and all those who facilitated the swift approval of the municipality’s long-standing request for a new fire truck.

For years, the local government had been seeking a replacement for its aging Morita fire truck, which has served the municipality for more than four decades. Following the courtesy visit of Mayor Elvira U. Babalcon to the DILG Secretary on July 23, 2026, the request was immediately acted upon, leading to the turnover of the new fire truck on July 24, 2026.

Joining Mayor Babalcon during the visit to the BFP Central Office were Fire Marshal SFO4 Arnel Rabadam and FO2 Tristan Tan, whose efforts were likewise recognized for their dedication in advancing the municipality’s fire protection services.

The acquisition comes at a crucial time as Paranas continues to strengthen its disaster preparedness and response efforts amid fire incidents reported in various barangays. With the new fire truck, the BFP Paranas Fire Station is now better equipped to deliver faster and more efficient emergency response, helping protect lives and properties across the municipality.

The Local Government Unit of Paranas extends its sincere appreciation to the Department of the Interior and Local Government, the Bureau of Fire Protection, and all individuals who made this milestone possible, reaffirming its commitment to building a safer and more resilient community.
