Sangguniang Bayan holds committee hearing on TB Ordinance

The Sangguniang Bayan conducted a committee hearing on Municipal Ordinance No. 124, which proposes amendments to the municipality’s existing Tuberculosis (TB) Ordinance, on August 12, 2026, at the SB Session Hall.

The hearing was led by Municipal Vice Mayor Hon. Atty. Eunice Babalcon and attended by members of the Sangguniang Bayan, barangay captains, Barangay Health Workers (BHWs), and Rural Health Unit (RHU) personnel led by Dr. Francis Langi Jr.

The discussion focused on the proposed changes to the local TB ordinance, with participants sharing their concerns, suggestions, and inputs based on their experiences in their barangays and in the delivery of health services.

The committee hearing forms part of the local legislative process in reviewing the proposed amendments and ensuring that the ordinance reflects the needs and realities of the municipality, particularly in strengthening efforts to prevent and control tuberculosis.

Following the committee hearing, a public hearing and consultation on the proposed ordinance will be held today at 9:00 AM at the Kirigtaan Hall. The activity will be held alongside People’s Day and the joint meeting of the municipality’s local special bodies.
